Many things happened on October 23rd, 2000.

In Spain people had to deal with floodings caused
by extreme rainfall. US Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright visited North-Korean leader Kim Jong-il. The
landing of Space Shuttle Discovery had to be postponed
once again due to bad weather at Kennedy Space Centre.
Newsmedia were trying to scare us by telling that Asteroid
2000 UR16 would allmost hit the Earth (it would actually
fly by at roughly 10 times the distance Moon to Earth).
Divers were risking their lives trying to recover
the bodies of sailors trapped inside the
Kursk submarine. It was the 60th
birthday of Pelé, the famous
Brazilian football player.

And Sandra and Jacco got married.
