Fractal Of The Past - 005

The type of this fractal is Julia4, also known as Quartic Julia.

I started with the Mandelbrot4 fractal, also known as Quartic Mandelbrot fractal. The Mandelbrot4 fractal corresponds to the Julia4 fractals in the same way as how the Mandelbrot set corresponds to the Julia sets. The formula is z⁴ + c, or in full: z_n+1 = z⁴_n + c.

The next sequence shows how I zoomed in to get the 'root' for the Julia4 fractal:

The crosshair in the last image above indicates the "root" for the Julia4 fractal. In Fractint you get this by just pressing the spacebar.

Pressing the spacebar again brings up the Julia4 fractal.

I changed the drawing method to 'boundary tracing' , and used the fill color option.

I changed the outside coloring option to 'summ'.

Finally I choose a color map.
